Dr. Rex Yeap is the co-founder
and Vice-Chairman IIPCC Singapore chapter. He is also a Partner of
Invention Capital. His responsibilities include overseeing the
creation and commercialization of innovative inventions and
investing in and nurturing early-stage companies. Dr. Yeap is also a
board member of the Business Angel Network (BANSEA) and an ASEAN
Business Angel Alliance Director. Dr. Yeap holds a Master of Science
(Distinction) from the University of Leeds and has conducted
extensive research in developing several patented hedge fund
systems. With over 30 years of experience in the Infocomm technology
industry, he has worked across the value chain, including industry,
government, and academia.
Dr. Yeap began his career in interactive digital media in the late
1980s, specifically in computer game design and development. In
1997, he was among the pioneering alumni of Kent Ridge Digital Labs,
where he was involved in patent mapping and analysis. Since then, he
has been continuously involved in numerous patent mapping, analysis,
and strategy-related ventures. He has worked with a range of
international clients in developing their IP road-mapping and
commercialization strategies, utilizing proprietary and open
innovation and patent analytics methodologies. Dr. Yeap co-founded
3i Analytics, where he and his team produced over 2000 original
technology IP reports. He also directed efforts to design, develop,
